Day 5 - Project 365

Well I took a picture of something today of something that has me worried.  I have a teenager and a 12 year old that are about to get house keys if ever I weren’t to make it home in time for their bus.  Connor, my 5 year old, used to love the idea of riding the bus, and he still wishes to ride it in the morning.  But because in the afternoon he has to take a bus from his school to his sister’s school and then get on her bus…he’s on it for an hour at the end of a long day.  And it’s a bus with up to 5th graders on it.  So he’s just a tad overwhelmed by it and grouchy at night from being tired.  So he’s now on parent pick up where I pick him up in the circle drive at school.  Which is going to now cause me to not be here when the girl’s get home…but very shortly after.  Why am I afraid?  Well the teen would lose her head if it weren’t attached.  I told her I worry about her losing it or it getting into the wrong hands.  For some reason I have this fear of someone getting it and raiding my home.  Just a creepy feeling for me.

So today was a picture of the keys that I put on these big crock keychains hoping that they’re so big they won’t lose them.  That they’ll be easy enough to find in their purse, etc.  Fingers crossed.

Day 4 of Project 365

You know I get tired of feeling like we always have the same ole stuff for dinner.  You get in this rut of predictable meals that are easy to do because life is just so hectic and so fast paced.  So I told myself today I’m grabbing a cookbook and making something new and different.  I should’ve actually gotten a picture AFTER it was in my bowl and all doctored up with the tortilla chips, shredded cheese and spoon of sour cream on top.  Oh was it YUMMY.  It will become a usual meal for sure.  I made the kid’s chicken tenders and fries "just in case" they hated it.  It was a bit spicey…but mmmmmmm

Kayla is "Singing It"

Over Christmas we celebrated my side of the family’s holiday over at my sister’s house.  My nephews got Rock Band and Kayla (my 12 year old) was on it with my sister-n-law and nephews for hours, Kayla being the singer.  She absolutely loved it.  The last couple church plays she’s had small solo parts and she just truly enjoys it.  Her mommy is starting to see a passion shine through, so singing lessons may be in the future.

Today Kayla brings up several old Playstation 2 games that they never play anymore asking if we can go to Game Stop and trade them in for "Sing It" for Wii.  And of course mommy is a huge sucker and hops in the car to get it.  Not know it was as much as it was.  So all the girl’s threw in their allowances to pay for it.  That showed me just how much it meant to them to have it.  My 14 year old sister-n-law we have custody of, Leighana, came up saying "THANK YOU for getting Sing It’.  YAY….love when something makes them this happy (and gives me and their daddy quiet time to watch a good movie…lol)

Tonight I snuck down and took a snapshot of Kayla doing "Sing It".  I showed her the layout and she looked at me wondering when I even got the picture.  She didn’t even notice the flash go off.  LOL  All the items in the layout below are by Vera Lim (including her new overlays coming out Monday).

Day 3 of Project 365

I’m late getting started in this project (I’m sure I can locate 2 images I shot the last two days)  But today was the first day I took especially to try this challenge.

I didn’t go for an image WOW factor with this…it’s what the image is of that WOWs my 12 year old’s mommy.  Kayla got clay for Christmas and last night she was hard at work making this horse.  I woke up this morning and was in ahhh.  It’s awesome.  Now I need to head out and get her some paint for it so she can finalize her project.

Well I didn’t make the CT

I was initially really bummed about not making a dream CT spot.  But you know what it caused me to do?  SHOP…oh my!  Why is it we get down about something and feel that shopping is the ultimate fix it.  Then after we spend the money we feel guilty that we did it.  UGH.  And now you know what I find myself doing?  Searching for other designers that resemble the same style…I’m sick I tell ya <giggle>

December Guest for MandaBean

December seemed to just fly by with all the shopping and holidays.  But I was able to do up a couple layouts as a Guest CT for MandaBean.  I saw she just posted at Sweet Shoppe Designs that she’s getting ready to do several more Word Art sets.  I absolutely LOVE LOVE her word art.  They’re so fun.  So I’ll be looking forward to those coming out.

I don’t believe it’s a secret that her mom is battling cancer.  So just keep MandaBean and her mom in your prayers please.

Oh the waiting….

You know the waiting you do when you just put in to try and get on your DREAM CT position.  You try to tell yourself that you have a great chance…but then you see the threads where it was posted get so long with interest that you think "there’s no way I’ll get it".  And because you’ve been grabbed up to other CTs even before the call is over, you think maybe that’ll happen with this one.  I’ll just be one she has to have <giggle>

Well that hasn’t happened yet for the latest DREAM CT position I applied for.  I know the call isn’t over but oh the waiting is absolutely killing me.  I think I check my email WAY too often these days … LOL

Oh this is just the part I hate.  I like those that do them and within days.  The ones that last weeks (especially during a holiday season)….ahhhhhh….it’s a killer.

Vera Lim’s new goodies…

Can I just say Vera Lim ROCKS.  I was on her Creative Team a couple years back when she was still somewhat new.  And since leaving I’ve missed being a part of making her designs shine!  So I’m happy to be back.  Below are a couple of her newest designs, and some layouts I’ve done with them.

FINALLY…My blog has been updated…

I have always been terrible at blogging.  Always felt like such a chore until a good friend in the digi community introduced me to this Windows Live Writer.  WOW….why did I not know of this before.  In being determined to make my blog look better I self taught myself to change my header, and several other things.  I am SO pleased.  I wanted my header to focus on those that are the reason I scrap.  I wanted to keep it somewhat basic so that when I post layouts and advertise for my CT positions, those things stand out.  YAY!!!  I am so ready to be a blogger now <giggle>
